Climbing Roses

It's been slow going with the roses but I'm getting there.

All of them stuck onto floral wire and a pair of leaves added, my fingers and thumbs are not designed to do minis! Wire was added to the trellis, which I had previously painted.

Then came the job of  adding the roses but as I neared the top it became obvious I hadn't made enough. DOH!!

I intend to finish it off tonight.

It never ceases to amaze me how many mean spirited and petty people there are in this world.A couple of weeks ago, after I had posted about getting to grips with Fimo and showing you the pizza, I received an anonymous E-mail saying that my Blog was all lies and I was just showing photos of things I had bought (hence the photos of the trellis in various stages) I tried to reply but my E-mail bounced back at me so I put it to the back of my mind and thought no more about it. That is until this week when it emerged on Facebook that a very talented miniaturist, Caroline from Hummingbird miniatures, had had her Etsy shop suspended after somebody told Etsy that she didn't make her own stock ( I'm not comparing myself to her, she's leagues above me). She then had to go through hoops to prove that it was all her own work. Her shop has been re-instated but she has lost insertion fees, which Etsy will not refund, and possibly sales and all because of a mean spirited person. I despair of people sometimes.

See you later....

Fimo Frenzy.

After sorting out my Fimo problem there was no stopping me, some of it worked, some of it didn't and was sent to the dustbin but I had fun playing. One of the things that did work was some strawberries which were rather fiddly but I'm pleased with the end result.

I put them in the strawberry planter that I received for renewing my magazine subscription.

I've also been busy making toys for the attic nursery in my dh.

One of the girls at work is terrible for killing plants, she definitely doesn't have green fingers, and any plants that enter her office are doomed! so I made her something she couldn't kill.

Anyone who owns a dh will know that even when it's finished it's not really finished and so it is with the pub room-box. One of the customers is always in, sat at the corner of the bar using his laptop, so I thought I would make an image of him being in the pub.

The laptop has warped a bit but it will be OK when it is glued down. I don't know whether you can see from the photo but the glasses have lenses in them (nail varnish).

The DH is on a course in Coventry at the moment, he's back tonight, so I've had  a bit more spare time to play. Last night I painted some garden trellis green, it was brown but it looked really plasticky  so a coat of paint was needed. Then I set about painting some rose shaped bead spacers red so I can make a climbing rose to go up it

All in all I've been a busy bee and made quite a bit, the decision to stop selling minis was a good one.

See you later....
